Southington Community Theatre will hold auditions for its June 19th-20th production of Seussical the Musical on Sunday, March 15 by appointment only. To register for an audition slot, please visit southingtoncommunitytheatre.org. Parts are available for ages 9-adult. Auditions will take place at Southington Community Theatre Hall, 1237 Marion Avenue (the old Marion Firehouse), Marion, CT. Actors should be prepared to read from the script, and prepare one of the following songs from the show: “Amazing Mayzie,” “Notice Me Horton,” “Alone in the Universe.”
About Seussical the Musical: The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
Seussical the Musical will be directed by Jocelyn Perlini. Music director is Paula Calandra.
