About the show:

By Ken Ludwig

It is Christmas Eve, 1936. William Gillette, an actor famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. This glittering whodunit has murder, infidelity, wit, and surprises—something for everyone.

MEET THE CAST

RM McCarty (William Gillette) – THE GAME'S AFOOT is the eighteenth SCT production for which Rich has either been a director, musician, or performer, not to mention other shows he assisted in a technical support role. He currently serves as the President of the SCT Board. Having been in the director's chair many times, favorite stage performances include Wykowski in BILOXI BLUES, The Baker in INTO THE WOODS, Bill Sykes in OLIVER, Benjamin Franklin in 1776, Selsdon in NOISES OFF, Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS, and the Narrator in DANCING AT LUGHNASA. When not working for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Rich is part of the music group, SHE'S WITH HIM

Carolyn Totino (Madge) A member of SCT since 2012, Carolyn was most recently seen in SCT’s The Prom (ensemble), The Dinner Party (Mariette), and Rumors (Cassie). She is deeply grateful to be back onstage doing what she loves most. Theatre is one of the few places where being a silly goose is not only accepted, but somehow turns into art. With immense gratitude to Amanda for the opportunity to play, love to her endlessly supportive family, and heartfelt thanks to this extraordinary cast and crew for an unforgettable experience.

Jared Watterworth (Felix Geisel) Jared is thrilled to return to the SCT stage for another wonderful production. Previous roles with SCT include Franklin Hart (9 to 5), Ken Gorman (Rumors), and The Mayor (Seussical!) among others. He'd like to thank Amanda Savio for trusting him once again on her stage, as well as the SCT board of directors for their continued passion for local theatre. He'd like to thank everyone in attendance for their support of the arts. Follow the map. For Lily and his family, always.

Christine Woolley (Daria Chase) is excited to perform with Southington Community Theater for the first time! Past productions include Inappropriate Audience Behaviors, Rumors, and My Big Gay Italian Wedding with the Simsbury Theater Guild, and Farce of Habit with Phoenix Stage Company. She sends her love and gratitude to Isiah, Danya, and her family and friends for their support and encouragement of her community theater adventures.

Matt Griffiths (Inspector Goring) is thrilled to make his SCT debut in The Game’s Afoot!  Matt is an actor, director and writer who has appeared in and worked on numerous theatrical productions, radio programs, Renaissance faires, podcasts, and what-have-you (because he just doesn’t know how to say no!) across CT and online for over 20 years.  Recent onstage roles include Michael in God of Carnage (Castle Craig Players), Lewis in Pippin (Magnolia Theatre), Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Golden Fox Theatre), and Samuel Byck in Assassins (FUSE Theatre).  Matt would like to thank his girlfriend Tracey for her love and encouragement of branching out to new theatre groups, and the cast and crew for being so welcoming and fun to work with.

Ginny Wolf (Martha Gillette) This is Ginny’s first production with SCT, and she’s thrilled to be working with this wonderful director, cast, and crew. Recent roles include the Photographer in Kodachrome (Farmington Valley Stage), Ginger in Becky’s New Car (Suffield Players), Winnie in Wine with Winnie (and the upcoming Weddings with Winnie) with Playland Productions, and Aurora Greenway in Terms of Endearment with Diamond Theater Company. Other favorite roles include Barbara in August: Osage County and Anna in Night Sky.

Ginny is the founder of Herstory Theater (www.herstorytheater.com), dedicated to bringing the unsung heroines of history to life, including her original production Goodwives and The Gallows about the Connecticut Witchcraft Panics. She is also a voiceover artist and audiobook narrator, hosts SpotLight: Radio Reveling in the Arts and Entertainment on WLIS/WMRD, and is a proud member of the Connecticut Theater Women’s Network, the Dramatists Guild, and the Connecticut Critics Circle. A million hugs and kisses to her husband, Steven, who puts up with all this diva behavior!

Stuart Savelkoul (Simon) is delighted to return to SCT for his fourth production, having previously dazzled Southington audiences as Principal Hawkins in THE PROM and as other men cast opposite remarkably capable women in RUMORS and THE DINNER PARTY. By day, he serves as Chief of Staff for AFT Connecticut, advocating for working people across the state. He is grateful for the love and support of his family-Rebecca, Simon, and Ellie-along with his friends and Chosen Family, his castmates, Amanda (who keeps him humble), and Jameson (who does his best to repair any emotional damage she causes).

Julie Jarvis (Aggie Wheeler) Julie is so excited to be part of her first official SCT show - and first play ever with a speaking role since 3rd grade! Favorite musical credits include Eponine in Les Mis, Natalie in Next to Normal, Cinderella in Into the Woods, Johanna in Sweeney Todd and Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Thank you to this incredible cast and crew for making this process so fun and helping her fall in love with acting again. Special thanks to Amanda for her trust and light, Mike for being the most supportive husband and running lines with her, and for her dog Waffle who is her pride and joy. For Jean (Gaga), who brought joy everywhere she went
