Scholarship Recipients
2006 - Allison Brzezinski
Brzezinski graduated in
2006 from Southington High School. She has performed with numerous local
theater groups, including Southington Community Theatre, Hartford
Children’s Theatre, Little Theater of Manchester, Broadbrook Opera
House, New Britain Repertory Theater, Warner Theater, Hartt School of
Music Theater Company, University of Hartford Summer Place Players,
Theater Newington On Stage, and Bristol Community Theater. She has also
completed internships at Hartford Stage Company and Hartford Children’s
Theatre. In the fall of '06, Brzezinski enrolled in Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. She
majors in
theater with a minor in dance therapy.
2005 - Arianne
DeCerb
Arianne graduated in 2005 from Southington High
School. She attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts her senior
year, and while there, performed the role of Grizabella in CATS.
She performed in the Southington High School Drama Club’s productions of
The Wiz and Fame, and participated in Southington Community
Theatre’s production of Bye, Bye, Birdie in 2003. Arianne also
performed in Southington Summer Stage's production of
Godspell in August, 2005. Arianne is pursuing a degree in
Musical Theater at Emerson College in Boston.
2004 - Stacie Long
Stacie graduated in 2004 from Southington High School and the Greater
Hartford Academy of the Arts as a voice major. At the Academy, she was
in the Jazz Choir, which competed and won the Monterey Jazz Festival in
Monterey, Calif. She participated in Southington Summer Youth Theatre
for six years, and worked for the program as stage manager this past
summer.
Currently, Stacie is pursing a degree in Musical Theater at the Chicago
College of Performing Arts, where she also earned their talent
scholarship. She has studied voice with Peter Peluso for the past five
years.
2003 - Richard Cekovsky
In high school, Richard was a member of the National Honor Society,
involved in activities at St. Thomas Church and had participated in many
Southington theater events throughout his life. His most recent
performance was the principal role of Conrad Birdie in SCT's production
of Bye Bye Birdie in April, 2003. Cekovsky's intention after high
school was to pursue a major in theater in college.
2003 - Matthew Hennessey
Matthew had performed with the Southington High School
Drama Club, Southington Summer Youth Theater and the University of
Hartford Summer Vocal Institute. Hennessey was accepted to the Greater
Hartford Academy of Performing Arts during his senior year in high
school. He is pursuing a degree in acting/performance in college.
2002 -
Chavah
Levine
As a high school
senior, Chavah was a member of the National Honor Society, active within
her synagogue and National Honor Society, and participated in dance,
theater, drama club and the school newspaper. Chavah's intention after
high school was to pursue a double major in elementary education and
theater arts in college.
