Southington Community Theatre to hold auditions for
October production of Oliver!

Southington, CT - Auditions for Southington Community Theatre’s October production of Oliver! will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, August 20 and Sunday, August 22 at Southington Community Theatre Hall, 1237 Marion Avenue (the old Marion Firehouse), Marion, CT. Callbacks will be held Monday, August 23. Parts are available for ages 8-80. Those who audition should come prepared to sing a song of your choice, with either back up music (CD) or sheet music.  Participants should also come prepared to do some movement and line reading. An accompanist will be provided.

This production will be directed by Tony and Heidi Lamberto and Allison Platt. Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Nothing works on the stage like a well-crafted tale, and Oliver! is just such a show. Based on the Dickens novel, it engages the audience with its pathos and drama, while delighting everyone with its outstanding musical numbers like “Food, Glorious Food,” “I'd Do Anything,” “Where is Love?,” “Consider Yourself,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Who Will Buy” and “Reviewing the Situation,” all musical theatre classics. Dickens' characters are brought to life-perhaps larger than life-with all their facets glowing in this production.
